Whole School Approaches

Whole School Approaches

Whole school approaches go beyond instructional or single intervention strategies within the school. They engage students, teachers and parents in a cooperative effort to prevent antisocial behaviours. Whole school approaches use several interventions within the school in a coordinated way to prevent antisocial behaviours. For example, a school can use a combination of enforced school discipline, behaviour supports, alternatives to suspension, a peer mediator program, teaching conflict resolution skills, "green" school grounds and parental involvement in a whole school approach.
