PROVINCIAL/TERRITORIAL CURRICULUM


 

Follow these steps to plan, prepare and then publish you WebQuest online.

1. Search for good websites and for good content from other sources.

2. Review your required learning outcomes from your provincial/territorial curricula.

(We have provided links to all of the provincial/territorial curricula from this website. Please see the left hand margin of the homepage. Note: in many cases, you will need to view/print the entire document because they are in PDF format.)

3. Decide on the length of your WebQuest and how many students will be involved.

Short-Term

Involve all students in the class as a homework assignment, visiting 3-5 sites.

Time required: 30 minutes
online, 30 minutes offline.

Medium-Term

Involves 2-3 students visiting
the same 5-10 sites, about two weeks with a class or web
presentation.

Time required: 1.5 hours online,
5 hours offline in small group work, 1 hour in class presentation.

Long-Term

Involves 4-6 students, with each student visiting different sites, returning with information as part of pre-arranged roles, occurs over term of 4-6 weeks, with class or school project.

Time required: 3-5 hours online, 5 hours individual offline work, 5-7 hours group work, 5-10 hours class, school or community project.

4. Plan out your WebQuests using one of our planners ( Short-Term, Medium-Term, Long-term)

5. Prepare student instruction (use our online template)

6. Prepare teacher guide (use online template)

7. Submit your WebQuest and await notification when your WebQuest will be published.
