Community  Involvement

Once again, a short definition of the type of program being described here is useful. Earlier in this framework we have discussed community-school programs (in which community-based and school-based activities are coordinated). We have also discussed community-based programs (in which the role of the school is marginal, usually limited to publicizing the program). In this section of our framework, the community's involvement in school-based programs is discussed briefly. Such involvement would include community representatives participating on school advisory committees, schools offering space to community-based groups or using community resources to train school staff or provide resources to the school.
