The Canadian
School Health Centre has been established to support several school health activities. The Centre also collects, compiles and catalogues
reports, manuals, studies, and other information that is not available
through publishing companies and journals. The centre has collected over
7000 documents since it took over an earlier collection that Health Canada
had started. Resources for the Centre are limited, but an extensive number of documents
have been catalogued and abstracts prepared. The Centre isthe home of the
Canadian School Knowledge Network.
Services that the
Centre is developing:
 |
A collection of documents selected from various
school health projects has been developed. A catalogue is being prepared of specific document that
will be available for access at a later date.
|
 |
Environment scans of current activities in Canada
that have been done or are being done by various groups. Lnks to environment
scans on Canadian school health activities in nutrition, physical activity,
tobacco, Aboriginal schools, French-language schools and safe schools will be
available.
|
 |
Reference lists from a variety of
sources on selected topics. These lists will include web-based
links to documents available on other web sites. |
In the future, we hope to provide:
 |
Selected lists of evaluated resources relating
to specific topics of interest to schools and others. These lists will
summarize the evaluations done by others about such programs and provide
contact and ordering information.
|
 |
Collections of sample policies, planning,
assessment and training materials.
